The Brief
A refined Morningside couple sought a furniture solution that matched the elegance of their newly renovated Atholl Gardens home. The brief was unambiguous: light, airy, and luxurious. No dark woods, no heavy forms. Every piece had to feel considered, and the overall effect had to read as effortlessly sophisticated.
The Living Room
The lounge centres on a full-height Calacatta marble-look Caesarstone feature wall with a slimline linear gas fireplace set into it, framed by a brushed brass surround. Open BLOCK shelving in white gloss with brushed brass shelf pins flanks both sides, styled with sculptural vases, art books and trailing greenery. A cream curved boucle sectional sofa and round travertine coffee table complete the zone — soft, warm and entirely refined.
The Dining Room
An oval 6-seater dining table in white gloss with brushed brass legs anchors the dining zone, surrounded by cream boucle dining chairs. A DYNAMIQ smoked glass credenza in white gloss with brass handles provides storage with a sophisticated finish. A thin brass ring chandelier above the table completes the composition.
The Master Bedroom
The master suite uses the BLOCK bedroom system in white gloss: a platform bed with a cream boucle upholstered headboard panel, matched white gloss bedside pedestals with brushed brass pulls, a 6-drawer dresser and dressing table with oval brass mirror. Soft white linen bedding with a blush throw keeps the palette calm and cohesive.
The Study
A dedicated reading and work space was furnished with floor-to-ceiling BLOCK bookcases in white gloss with brass shelf pins spanning the full wall, a white gloss writing desk with brass legs, and a cream boucle armchair with brass frame beside the window. The room is calm, light-filled and entirely consistent with the rest of the home.
