The Brief
Waterkloof Ridge demanded something different from TRENZY Spaces. Where Johannesburg projects often reach for drama and darkness, this Pretoria home called for warmth, openness and a deep connection to the garden beyond its walls. The brief was clear: premium luxury that feels lived-in, sun-drenched and completely at ease with itself. Every room was designed to breathe — with golden afternoon light as the primary design element and the lush Pretoria garden as the ever-present backdrop.
The Living Room
The heart of the home features a full-height BLOCK shelving wall in Treviso warm oak with open shelving styled with trailing plants, ceramic vases and art books. A linear gas fireplace with a warm sandstone surround anchors the wall beneath a flat screen TV. An oversized curved cream boucle sectional sofa with terracotta and rust cushions faces a round warm oak coffee table, while large bifold doors open the room fully to the lush garden — flooding the space with warm golden afternoon light.
The Formal Dining Room
A generous rectangular 8-seater dining table in Treviso warm oak with brushed brass legs anchors the dining room, surrounded by curved high-back cream boucle dining chairs on warm brass legs. A BLOCK sideboard in Treviso oak with warm brass handles sits against a warm sandstone plaster wall. A large terracotta ceramic pendant cluster above the table and lush indoor plants complete a space that feels effortlessly refined, with bifold doors open to the garden and warm afternoon sun pouring through.
The Master Bedroom
The master suite is a study in calm luxury. A BLOCK platform bed in Treviso warm oak with a wide low upholstered cream linen headboard is flanked by matching oak bedside pedestals with warm brass pulls and ceramic table lamps. Layered cream and sand linen bedding with a rust terracotta throw at the foot, a low Treviso oak dresser with brass handles, and a large monstera plant in a terracotta pot complete the composition. Warm golden afternoon light bleeds through sheer linen curtains.
The Library
The library wall features a full installation of TRENZY BLOCK modular shelving — warm oak frames with a dynamic asymmetric grid of open shelves and closed white and charcoal door panels, styled with books, ceramics, trailing plants and bronze sculptures. A warm brass Sputnik cluster chandelier hangs above, while a cream linen reading sofa sits to one side bathed in golden window light. The result is a room that feels as much like a private gallery as a library.
The Second Lounge & Entertainment Room
A dedicated entertainment space features a BLOCK Treviso oak media wall spanning the full width of the room — open shelving and concealed storage units styled with plants and ceramics, with a flat screen TV centred. A large L-shaped warm sand and terracotta linen sectional sofa with ottoman faces a round travertine coffee table, while a warm brass arc floor lamp adds focused warm glow. Bifold doors open to an outdoor terrace with the lush Pretoria garden and warm afternoon sun beyond.
